I love to create pet portraits, or otherwise known as 'Petraits', offering you a beautiful detailed piece of fine art created to honor your beloved pet.  Every ounce of my experience as an artist is poured into your special one-of-a-kind 'Petrait'.  Dog, Cat, Horse, Guinea Pig even rabbit (oh my), everyone is welcome on my drawing table.  Visit the Gallery page here for examples of my color pencil work.

Currently, I am offering colored pencil portraits.  Why colored pencil?, the finish is akin to fine painting, the color incredibly vibrant and the detail is spectacular.  These aren't your children's pencils, they are fine heavenly little slender sticks of pure beauty in the lushest finishes & textures.

Materials Used

I work with Caran d'Ache Luminance & Pablo's, Polychromos & Derwent Drawing only.  These are the finest colored pencils you can buy and their finish is second to none.  Papers used are the incomparable Clairefontaine Pastelmat, Grafix Drafting Film & Sennelier 'La Carte Pastel.  My tools & mediums are the highest quality.

Your Photos

Images are important.  Detailed well lighted images are the most helpful.  For instance, if your dog has that adorable pose you love I need you to capture that image.  Your 'Petrait' will be created from your image, yes, I can draw but I can't create the special nuances or quirky goofies only you can capture.  Eyes, eyes are windows to the successful portrait, they absolutely need to be clear & full of light. Please take your images at your pet's eye level - this creates a much more natural point of viewing.

WIP - Work In Progress Notifications

Once I commence work on your portrait I will offer regular emails showing you progress images. This will give you the opportunity to make suggestions or voice concerns, end of project surprises are not helpful for either of us, WIP's avoid pitfalls or mistakes. I will also post updates on my Cindy Galloway Artist Facebook Page unless you would like me to keep the piece private, especially for surprises & gifting purposes
